Frequently Asked Questions

About Us

A: Four (a singer, a drummer, a bassist and a guitarist).
A: We met in 2007 while studying at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, and have been playing together as Return To Grace since 2009.
A: Our style is focused mostly on modern melodic rock and pop, although we like to mix it up with different genres and eras too. Please visit our Songs page to see the variety of styles and songs we perform.

Services

A: Generally, yes, although this is dependant on the song. Although we have spent time considering the songs to include on our set list we are always eager to expand our repertoire, so ask us and we'll see what can be done!
A: We are based in the south-east of England, but are happy to travel to other parts of the country. Depending on the location of your event, we may require a contribution towards travel expenses and accommodation. Please contact us as we can discuss.
A: Yes, but if the venue provides a PA then we can use it. Please let us know if this is the case. If your event is particularly large, the hire cost of extra PA equipment may be added to our price.
A: Typically we play for 2 hours, broken into either 2x60 minute sets or 3x40 minute sets. The exact timings can be customised by you.
A: This varies. On average we play around 25-30 songs for a two hour set.

Requirements

A: Yes, it is important to make sure our sound levels are good. We will need to establish the best possible sound mix prior to starting.
A: Normally it will require around an hour to set up, maybe more depending on the size of the event. This will usually not include the time taken for a sound check.
A: We will work with whatever room is available, but a minimum of 14x12' (4.5x3.5 metres) is generally needed.
A: At least a double plug socket on both sides of the playing area.

Booking and Payment

A: The earlier you contact us, the more likely we are to be available. Christmas time is always busy, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
A: Cash (preferred) or cheque.
A: We will send you a booking contract which will need to be signed and returned to us. A 20% deposit will be necessary beforehand. The remaining balance of the fee is due at the event prior to the performance.

General Queries

A: Yes! You can select the songs from our setlist which you would like to hear, and any that you would prefer we not play. Generally, the running order of the songs is handled by us. We can discuss this in detail with you prior to your event to ensure the best results.
A: Live music by its very nature is fairly loud. Every venue is different, and we will always try to play appropriately to the size and the occasion. Please let us know if you have special requirements or if the venue has a sound limiter.
A: Normally we dress smart-casual, but in the past we have gone from fully suited to fancy dress! If you have a specific dress code for your event, please let us know so we can make the necessary arrangements.
A: Yes, but since we require power you may need to arrange for the hire of a generator and there may be a contribution required towards the hire of more powerful PA equipment. We would also need you to supply some form of shelter to protect our instruments and equipment from the elements.
A: Thanks for thinking about us! While food and drink are not expected it is always appreciated. Please let us know beforehand so we can make our own arrangements if necessary.
